Our new home... is a 7 metre Winnebago on a 2006 VW LT46 chassis which we named AJ (Andrew and Joanne). AJ's heart is a 2.8 litre, 5 cyclinder turbo diesel, and the Winnebago body was made by Winnebago Industries in Emu Plains NSW.
AJ's other statistics are: Beds - There is a queen bed above the cab and a double bed can be made up down the back and there the dinnette is, so we can sleep a total of 6 adults (which is highly unlikely though) Toilet and Shower - cubicle is centrally locatated. Liquids - We can Carry 200 litres of water, 93 litres of grey water (shower and sink) and 23 litres of black water (toilet). The water pump is rated at 10 litres per minute. The Kitchen - consists of a stove powered by a 9 litre gas bottle located externally, a 90 litre fridge, microwave and a sink.
Dinnette and Rear Lounge/Dinning
Power - we have installed 2 x 100w solar panels on the roof and they power 2 x 105 aHR FullRiver AGM Deep Cycle Batteries. Where we need 240v power it is providde by a 105w inverter.
TV is a 12 volt Kogan LCD with DVD player and PVR. Storage - there are 13 cupboards and one wardrobe on the inside and 2 large storage boxes externally. Awning - Fiama 4.5. And we have an airconditioner, heavily tinted windows and a large hatch which we named "The Moon Roof", for obvious reasons.
Mark Twain once said "...years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do that by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - and so we will. |
